A few ideas to bring more creativity into your life: Learn about art journaling. Try your hand at collage. Explore painting, doodling or drawing. Take photos, perhaps on a theme, of things you find interesting or beautiful. Consider looking at cooking, gardening or writing as creative adventures and opportunities to try something new. Ask yourself: “What if I did this?” Be open to the possibilities!
About Lenna
I’ve been consistently creating since I was a child. My family has always supported my passion for creativity: drawing, painting, sewing, beading, poetry, modern dance, collage, art journaling, photography and more. My dad was especially supportive of my interest in art. He was very creative himself and had exceptional woodworking skills. Dad shared his knowledge and skills with my husband Steve when we moved to Florida. They set up a wood shop together; refinished some of dad’s handmade boats, created bookshelves and wooden spoons. Creativity runs in my family; the noted American Impressionist William Glackens (1870-1938) is my great uncle. I’ve curated a page about him, here on this site.
Expressing myself artistically is how I navigate; teaching mixed media classes, hosting Art Swaps, participating in collaborations with other artists and challenging myself with daily or weekly projects. I enjoy taking workshops taught by other artists; learning new things and developing new ideas. I love sharing my own art & inspiring others to explore their creativity. Early in my mixed media career, I was published in a number of books and magazines —learn more here.
