A Junk Journal created from paper scraps. The papers are folded first, then put together as a signature of pages. Lastly, the signature is sewn to the cover with a pamphlet stitch.

Messy Scrap Journal

Start by collecting a number of discarded junk papers to create your scrap journal. Examples include old book or catalog pages, old ledger papers, envelopes — plain ones or mail art envelopes you’ve received. Any old letters, lists, flyers or playbills could be included. Plain paper is great for having a blank page for drawing or collage. See the main page: Scrap Journals for more info on putting the papers together.

A flip through of the finished journal is here at the top of this page, with a photo gallery of my favorite pages below. Click any photo for a full size view & use the side arrows to scroll.

I learned how to create this journal from “Get Messy Art.” Learn more about how to start Art Journaling from them by going here!
