The very first quilt I made was my son’s idea… Dallas showed me a pile of his old button down shirts and asked, “Could you recycle these into a quilt for me?” - Yes! I’d never made a quilt before but developed confidence by watching videos and reading up on quilting techniques. That’s a great way for anyone to learn about cutting squares precisely and sewing them together. Traditional quilting is mathematical & there are so many different ways to quilt the fabric and finish the edges. Researching is essential if you are new to the process. Explore a few different ideas and then start! A little bit of sewing on a consistent basis can definitely reinforce a creative habit.
